Weapon Mastery v0.3.4 #
NOTE:
This feature is planned to be updated alongside the Weapon List itself to target weapons based on properties, rather than just listing the weapon's that are explicitly effected.
The intent of this feature itself is to allow specialization into a specific playstyle or weapon that alters the standard or otherwise routine flow of combat.
Weapon Master Features:
- At certain levels in your class you will be able to unlock a choice of Weapon Master Features. You can only unlock a Weapon Mastery Feature for Weapons with which you are proficient.
Great Axe Master You have mastered the savage ferocity of the Axe. You gain the following benefits:
- Applicable Weapons: Battleaxe, Crescent Axe, & Greataxe
- When you use your Reaction to make an Attack with only an Applicable Weapon, you deal an additional amount of damage equal to half your level rounded down.
- While you are wielding an Applicable Weapon, enemies leaving your range without using their movement, action, or reaction, enemies within range being knocked prone, and enemies gaining a condition that forces them to make a saving throw at the end of their turn all provoke attacks of opportunity.
- Additionally once per round you can make an opportunity attack without expending your reaction.
Great Hammer Master You can unleash devastating blows with two-handed hammers. You gain the following benefits:
- Applicable Weapons: Greatclub, Kanabo, Maul, & Warhammer
- When you take the Ready action on your turn, you gain Advantage on the next attack roll you make until the start of your next turn.
- While you are wielding an Applicable Weapon, when you Attack using your Reaction as part of a Readied Attack Action you gain the following benefits; Double your Proficiency Bonus for the Attack Roll. For the damage of this Attack, roll the damage dice of your weapon a number of times equal to the number of attacks you can make when taking the Attack Action + half your Proficiency Bonus (rounded down) & add any other damage modifiers that apply to this single attack.
Polearm Master You can keep your enemies at bay with reach weapons. You gain the following benefits:
- Applicable Weapons: Glaive, Halberd, Quarterstaff, & Staff
- When you take the Attack action and attack with only an Applicable Weapon, you can use a bonus action to make a melee attack with the opposite end of the weapon; this attack uses the same ability modifier as the primary attack. The weapon’s damage die for this attack is a d4, and the attack deals bludgeoning damage.
- While you are wielding an Applicable Weapon, other creatures provoke an opportunity attack from you when they enter the reach you have with that weapon.

Light Thrown Master You …
- Applicable Weapons: Dagger, Dart, Handaxe, & Light Hammer
- When you land a hit or miss with a thrown weapon attack the weapon returns to your grasp and does not cost your object interaction.
- While you are wielding an applicable weapon, their short range is increased by 20 feet, and their long range is increased by 40 feet.
Thrown Master You …
- Applicable Weapons: Javelin, Spear, & Trident
- When you Attack using the long thrown range of an applicable weapon you can increase the weapon’s damage die to 2d6.
- While you are wielding an applicable weapon, their short and long range are doubled.
Simple Weapon Master You …
- Applicable Weapons: Club, Mace, Sickle, & Sling

Crossbow Master You overcome the weaknesses of modern mechanisms. You gain the following benefits:
- Applicable Weapons: Hand Crossbow, Heavy Crossbow, & Light Crossbow
- You ignore the loading quality of applicable weapons with which you are proficient. If you are holding one of them, you can load a piece of ammunition into it even if you lack a free hand.
- When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can add your Ability Modifier to the damage of the extra attack if that attack is with an applicable weapon that has the Light property and you aren’t already adding that modifier to the damage.
- While you are wielding a Applicable Weapon, being within 5 feet of a hostile Creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your Attack Rolls made with that weapon.
